A Life Story of a dog owner, who didn't dream to become the owner of a Wheaten Terrier or the history of little Binny
Level 1
I never heard the name of this wonderful breed - Irish Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. I had never dreamed of having a Wheaten Terrier. In January 1996 the Providence sent me my Berta in age of 10 months under breed name "Irish terrier" and without a pedigree. She had a wheaten colour, silky coat, and for 7 years I didn't know that I had a wheaten at home! And my Bertha was my happiness. In April 2002 I was lying in bed ill, watching TV, and accidentally I saw an advertisement of the dog magazine "Drug". On the cover there was a photo of a wheaten. We bought this magazine and I found the phone number of the owner of this wheaten from the cover - judge Katya Senashenko. We showed her Berta, and all three of us - me, my husband and Katya - were shocked: Berta was a true wheaten terrier of true Irish type! One year before Berta had lost her only puppy and couldn't have puppies in the future.
Conclusion: I had never dreamed of having a wheaten terrier, but happened to have one.
Level 2
In the beginning of September 2002 I aquired my Lissa, Wheatengale Elena Prekrasnaya - a puppy for Berta. We wanted to see, what small wheatens are like, and how they grow. We didn't plan to show this puppy. We could only find a name for the puppy - Lissa - when she was about 11 months old. Lissa is a true showgirl. She won BIS Baby at her first dog show. She was born for shows, and we started to visit dog shows. Lissa is now a beautiful adult girl. She has a lot of titles, she is now an Interchampion. And I want to emphasize, I had never dreamed of having any wheaten, no need to speak about a show class wheaten. I had never dreamed but I have.
At this time (2003) we got a new friend. I mean, Lissa has never had and can't have a more faithful friend and fun and I am very thankful for this.
Conclusion: I had never dreamed of having a wheaten terrier of a show class, but happened to have one.
Level 3
Finally, it comes to puppies. Lissa was mated in summer 2004, but unsuccessfully: she had no puppies.
This spring we visited Finland for the second time. The beginning of summer commemorated with the birth of 3 puppies - 2 males and only one female - This kidling declared at once with her groaning, that she was born in her own home and is going to live here. Everything developed according to her plans. She bossed over the males and played pranks, but she remained in all that a charming girlie. And how she lets people to take photos of her! From the youngest age Binny poses in photos as a professional. Problem with the name was solved at one stroke, Actually, I had to dig many sites for Irish names, but I like the result. Her full name will be Kinterra Binne Bedelia. It translates as Lovely Bedelia (Bedelia is just one of many names of Bridget - the Celtic supreme goddess and an Irish holy). We call her Binny at home. When her brothers go to their homes and Binny stays alone with her mother and Berta, she becomes a reasonably quiet and disciplined being, more similar to Berta, than to her mother Lissa.
For me Binny signifies something new, but at the same time she is a copy of Lissa, she is like her in everything, she has even Lissa's smile.
With the advent of Binny a lot of things changed. I groom her and want to try showing she. Why not?
The biography of Binny is very short yet, actually, it only started. Lets see what awaits us in the future.
Conclusion: I had never dreamed of dealing with handling and everything that has to do with dog shows, BUT… The life has just started. It is my Binny!
